Ian worked so hard he didn't even take time to enjoy his family vacations.
Solution
We supported Ian’s rehabilitation by having him throw with his right arm. We also enhanced his rehab using the “on and off-field” Zone Motion principles.
Ian continued to work hard but began to understand that the mental game is far more potent than he could ever imagine. It became essential to his further development and helped him access his full potential.
Results
Ian’s rehab coordinator said he had the most flawless rehabilitation process he has ever seen, and in his first full season back from surgery, he was named Rays Minor League Pitcher of Year.
Interestingly, during the season, Rays management commented to him that they were unable to identify why he was having so much success. They even brought in a consultant to try to identify the reasons for this.
It goes to prove that there is more to the game than just hard work.
