Common Questions

People frequently ask these questions about Zone Motion.

Is there an ideal age a player should be to start Zone Motion?

No, the sooner the better to begin building the neural pathways to best allow for developing and accessing one’s full ability. An older player may have greater appreciation due to having experienced the challenges of consistent performance for a longer period. We do not recommend athletes younger than 10 unless the player is serious about being their best.

Yes, because the training is based on neuroscience, it works for all players if they commit to the on and off-field work. There is nothing that is overly time-consuming. Some players may have a more difficult time with integration due to the state of the nervous system and previous conditioning. If there is a commitment to the on and off-field training and you get your questions answered, you will benefit.

Yes, there have been five research projects along with one study that was conducted with 17 college pitchers at the American Sports Medicine Institute. The findings combined to show that performance increases, development is expedited, and the chance of soft tissue injuries are reduced. These findings align with anecdotal evidence and client testimonials.

When an athlete can access the middle of the brain (The Library of Preparation) and then the back of the brain without interference from the front of the brain, only then can muscles fire in a synchronistic,

harmonious, sequential manner. This reduces pull on ligaments, tendons, muscles and fascia.

Some aspects, however, many are not.

When an athlete has been working on their mechanics and other skills (outer game) for many years and then begins to work on their inner game, amazing things can happen. This is because proper mental and emotional functioning frees up muscles. Integration of all they’ve worked on for many years can more easily take hold. The brain is the operating system to your entire life, including the muscles. Emotions undermine brain functioning.

Results can occur very quickly; however, can be fleeting. The experience you have will unequivocally provide the confidence to continue the on-going training process. Discipline with the practices is essential and some periodic follow up sessions are helpful.

Increased command of all pitches, increased late movement, increased spin rate, increased ability to change speeds, increased ability to develop new pitches, safely increase velocity, reduced shoulder and arm fatigue, increased recovery time, increased confidence and an overall better sense of well-being

Proper brain functioning allows all muscles to fire in a synchronistic, sequential, harmonious manner. This enables the ball to come out of the hand well.

Better balance, rhythm and timing along with more consistent contact and increased exit velocity. This is due to the muscles working in a more harmonious, synchronistic, sequential manner.

Zone Motion training more easily allows mechanical training to take hold because of access to the Library of Preparation in the middle of the brain.

When the mind settles, the analytical part of the brain quiets and allows space for answers to more easily surface. In addition, serotonin and oxytocin increases which allows for a better sense of well-being.

Our initial month would include two sessions per week of 45 minutes each. Additional months would be 30-45 minutes once or twice a week depending upon the package.
